WK3SS History

The 3 Steves (N2IFA, KB2ENF and KF2TI) have been close friends, both on and off the air since 1991. Each Steve is an avid DX'er and tries to be on the air as often as possible. In 1993, the 3 Steves started giving out their coveted WAS (Worked All Steves) certificate for working each Steve on HF. Every year in May, the 3 Steves travel to the Dayton Hamvention, working HF mobile throughout the night as they drive out to Dayton and during the day as they return home. On the last Wednesday of the year, you'll find the 3 Steves signing W1AW as they operate from the ARRL's club station. The 3 Steve's are regularly joined by Kurt (W2MW) who doubles as a Steve during these operations as well as Steve's son, Andrew (N2IFB) and Eric (K2EMZ). It was decided to get a club call so that the 3 Steves can operate as a special event station and give out even more WAS certificates.
